Festival of Lights Parade 2008

Archbold has a great parade to kick off the holiday season, they decorate just about anything with Christmas lights and drive it through town. Before the parade, we had a pre-parade party, the Turners, Meyers and Grandma and Grandpa Seibert came over.

June borrowed Tessa seat the eat dinner. She is a cutie pie.

And it would not be a party without the Meyer kids eating on the floor. At least they are not eating OFF the floor.

Here is the line of all the kids. L-R. Andy Meyer (in the shaddows), Heidi Meyer, Cole Meyer, Natalie, Oliver and Henry. Aunt Madalyn was over for the parade too, she came down to the parade later.

Now for the parade pictures.

The Archbold Department had reindeer on their ladder truck.

It would not be a Festival of Lights parade without a mobile port-o-jon.

This was the best float of the parade. There was a real steam engine running on the back of a semi and about every 30 seconds it would blow it's whistle. It was great and loud.

Sterlena was there. It was a pretty cold night. Click on the picture and you can see she had her utters covered with stocking hats.

I think this was the best use of old farming impliments. They made an old combine into a dragon that blew fire out of his mouth.

We walked back to the house for more refreshments. Bring up the rear of the group was Aunt Madalyn, Elizabeth, Oliver and Andy "Short Legs" Meyer. I think everyone else was home and realized they were not back yet. We almost sent a search party out to look for them.

Back home, Natalie had to taste her candy cane...

Henry warmed up with a little McDonald's coffee...

Oliver had a sucker...

And Elizabeth warmed up buy holding the baby furance, Tessa. Tessa stayed home with Grandma Seibert and June. Grandma said they were both good for her.
