Tessa's Birthday Party

It was only a week late, but we managed to celebrate Tessa's first birthday with a pool party. We had 9 kids, including Baby Lu, 8 of which were 5 and under. It was ONE party!
Tessa was a little stressed with that many little people in her pool and it was filled pretty deep in hopes that there would be enough to go around, so we let her have her own "pool".

Great Grandma and Grandpa say goodbye to the birthday girl.

Tessa play ball. I think she just might be the next Mia Hamm.

Oh yes, there was cake. Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Homemade. Tessa wasn't much for making a mess with it. She was all business.

If this is my piece, what are the rest of you eating?

Evie enjoys her sandwich on a stick. We made a giant sandwich, but it wanted to fall apart when we cut it, hence the skewers.

As you can imagine, opening presents with 9 mostly pre-schoolers was kind of chaotic. The job got done and Tessa got to play with most of her presents.

She even managed to at least get her hands on most of her presents.

I did say "most" of her presents.

Did we mention it was a pool party?
