In honor of St. Patrick and his contributions to the people of Ireland and all future generations we celebrated his feast day like any American Catholic might with green shamrock pancakes.
They were just plain pancakes from a box mix, but somehow the added flare made them disappear faster than normal and even faster than the batch of homemade chocolate ones that were presented as a second course.

Not wanting to risk being pinched, Natalie even wore green jammies the night before.
We even saved one for Tessa even though she slept in later than anyone else.
Then the everyone started in with the Lego's, even before they managed to get dressed. Interestingly enough this seemingly ordinary block building is actually a carefully crafted trap used to catch leprechauns. The folded napkin directs wayward little ones up the ladder toward the awaiting trap. Inside were "shiny" things to lure them in (a.k.a. all the random yellow Lego's they could find).
