Memorial Day Weekend

Mom had to work the weekend, but we managed to enjoy the unofficial beginning of summer.

Cecelia has gotten big enough for cookies or at least biter biscuits.  She really enjoyed her first one.

No I will not share.

This is good stuff.

Memorial Day weekend in NW Ohio was quite warm, think eggs frying on sidewalks warm.  We asked Tessa to grab a hat before a quick walk and this is what she came up with.

Our favorite preschool teacher finally graduated after 28 years trying.  She was kind enough to let us share in her celebration of retirement so we stopped for a silly photo op.

Our fun and excitement didn't stop there.  Grandma invited us for dinner Saturday night.  For Oliver this involved a little excavation in the backyard.

The breeze picked up a little after dinner and Tessa decided she was chilly.  She forgot to bring her own jacket so had to borrow Grandma's.  This may have been the prototype for the original snuggie.

Grandpa lit a fire in the fire pit and the marshmallows broke out.

Cecelia enjoyed hers with Dad.

Oliver took a quick spin before we headed home.  He says, "It's easy to ride, even in the grass."

Monday morning we headed to Fremont for the big parade.  Even Cecelia did her part for the campaign.

The little girls posed with a smile before we all got too hot and tired.  We finished our day off at the lake.  Oliver managed to swallow some water while swimming and then said, "The water just swam right in my mouth."

Almost everyone slept on the way home except Dad who had to drive and Natalie who was enjoying a Judy Blume novel.
