Marathon Weekend

Elizabeth ran the Akron Marathon this weekend. She ran 26.2 miles in 3 hr 28 min 29 secs. That is fast. She qualified for Boston.
Here she is minutes after finishing. Pretty good smile after running 3 1/2 hours.
I ran the half marathon, 13.1 miles in 1 hr 42 min 20 sec. I found out if you run the half, there is time to have a beer, watch the marathon winner come in, go back to the hotel and shower before Elizabeth finished. I hope she does not get much faster.
We stayed at Quaker Square. It was where they use to make Quaker Oats. They made the old silos into hotel rooms. All the rooms are round. It was pretty cool.
The man, Mr. Quaker himself. Did he really exist?
Here you can see the wall of the silo that was cut. They hung a bunch of the old gears that use to run the place on the walls.
In one silo they had a sculpter added 'faces' to the wall.
In between the silos there was a resturant. The tables were in old passenger train cars. And there was a bunch of old trains around.
Natalie called this one Thomas.
