Today is our neighbor Tom's birthday. So on his birthday his son, who is a fireman, will bring out one of the firetrucks for his dad to ride in. Neighbor Tom's wife says he is a big kid. As luck would have it, Oliver and I just got home from some errands when the fire truck was across the street. We watch as the loaded all the grandkids up and Grandpa up in the fire truck. As they were pulling away, they said we could have the next ride!
The fire truck they brought out just happened to be the new ladder truck. It is only 1 month old. It is just about as big as a house. 
Unfortunately Natalie and Tessa went to bed early tonight and were sleeping, so they missed out. Our neighbor kept an eye on the house while Oliver, Mom and Dad went for a ride.
We were pretty sure Oliver was not really sure what he was riding in.
Let me tell you, it is one big truck.
So neighbor Tom's present was not just to ride in the new fire truck. He got to go up in the tower. All the way to the top. Only 95 feet! He is one lucky guy.
