Sleeping on vacation

While it often felt like we did not get enough sleep on vacation, we did manage to get all seven kids to sleep every night by 9 or 9:30 and for the most part they all slept through the night. Tessa had a few rough nights and was up most mornings by 6, but we dealt with it.
Oliver slept well on our last night of vacation.

The big girls shared a bunk bed. They rotated who got the top bunk each night and did a wondeful job sharing. There was a rolled up blanket between the two on the bottom bunk just in case, but everyone seemed to do OK.

Tessa napped occasionally and sometimes her naps occurred in the midst of everyone else's fun.

Naps were occasionally interrupted with snuggles.

I'm not sure what preceded these naps, but the girls both must have been exhausted.

The big sis.

We took a morning and rented a Jeep to drive north toward the Virginia line in search of wild ponies. The roads up north are on the beach and completely unpaved. Vacation had Oliver pretty worn out by this point in the week and he missed most of our pony spotting.

Natalie fell asleep on the beach on the way back to return our Jeep.

One night Tessa fell asleep during dinner.

Natalie insisted that she did not take naps, she's too big for that. We tried to get her to have quiet time every day. This day she sat and watched TV with Dad and this is what happened.

Does this look comfy?
