Free Day Friday

Fulton County Schools had a teacher inservice day on Friday and Mom was off work so we packed up the van and headed to Toledo to the Imagination Station.

 

 

When we got there Elmo was waiting for us.  A new exhibit opens today with a special sneak preview for members only yesterday.  Elmo was onhand for a photo op as the exhibit is about the body featuring Sesame Street characters.

 

There's a high wire balance bike for visitors 54" or taller.  Mom and Dad are the only ones big enough to ride so Dad gave it a try and Natalie took the pictures.

 

There's also an exhibit sponsored by Promedica about your body and health.  They have a photo booth that will age progress you picture to show you the affects of age, smoke exposure, and weight gain.  Natalie and Dad tried it out.  Frightening.

 

Also part of the Promedica exhibit is this fun display that shows your movements.  You're supposed to follow the tai chi leader, but everyone in our group preferred to move like a crazy person.  No gentler flowing motions for us.

 

There's also an exhibit on feats of engineering.  We built this arch with foam blocks and then enjoyed knocking it over.

 

On the way home we stopped at the farmers market for some pumpkins.  They has this great tee pee-like creation made out of corn stalks. 

 

 

 

The big kids each got to pick out a pumpkin, but all I got was this squash.  Can I carve it?  What kind of face should we do?

 

They also have the best corn maze in northwest Ohio, at least in the eyes of Mom and Dad.  It's not designed in any particular fashion, but the price is right.  We love free entertainment.

 

 

Natalie kept us on course to get back to the van before dark.

 

Tessa ran ahead and made it out before Mom and Dad.

 

Then we stopped for a cute baby pic in the pumpkins.

 

We stopped one last time on the way home for our last trip to a local ice cream establishment before winter.  Since all of our favorites were already closed we had to try a new to us store in Delta which was open for it's last day this fall.

 

When we got home everyone was ready to decorate their pumpkins.  Fortunately they all wanted to use Sharpie markers so maybe the pumpkins will last until Halloween.
